Poetics Story

On July 14 of 2015 my sisters and I were outside watching the fireworks when we heard a gun shot. We immediately ran inside to tell our parents and have them call our neighbors to go inside their homes. Once our neighbors and family were inside we heard police and ambulance sirens go off. Later on around 10:30 my mom went ahead and turned on the local news and we were hit with Life changing news. Not even a minute passed when my dad’s phone rang popping up my aunts phone number. My mom and dad then looked at each other and picked up the phone my sister told him to put it on speaker and all we first heard was my aunt crying that’s when we knew something extremely bad happened to a family member. My mom then told her to calm down and breath and that’s when she gave us the news that it was my uncle that had gotten shot in his car right after he arrived home. The next morning at around 8 in the morning we went over to their house and that’s when my aunt explained everything to us. She told us that my uncle had a friend that was having problems with some people and ended up owing them money. My uncle and his friend had gotten to my aunts house with some fireworks for my cousins when the people found out where the guy was and shot him right in front of my uncles house. My aunt also told us that she thinks they shot my uncle as well  because they didn’t want to leave anyone knowing what had happened that night.

Literature Analysis

The book I am currently reading is called “The Bar Code Tattoo”, by Suzanne Weyn. This book is about a young girl named Kayla who is just in high school and and has to get a bar code tattooed on her or else her family is in great danger if she rejects getting the tattoo. Kayla has to make a choice that can literally change her entire life and her family’s as well. The tattoo gives people an easier way to access your identity. She was debating on weather getting the tattoo and saving her family from danger or running away to save her life.

The Making of an Essay

While I was writing the essay it wasn’t as hard but it did take me a while to brainstorm how I was going to do the layout. Once I got down the introduction I kept typing, putting the thoughts from my head onto my essay. Overall the only thing was that it was time consuming and I kind of enjoyed writing an essay after so long.

I am GSD

As of now I think I have completed most of my work that had to be done. I have tried my hardest ever since the first day of school and I will continue to work my hardest till the end of the year. Ever since my Freshman year ended I told my self I was going to do twice as better my Sophomore year and end with a better GPA than last years.

Writing about Life and Death

The story called the Katha Unpanishad, is an allegory which uses characters and narrative structures to help us the readers think about different abstract concepts. In the story they explain how their religion and death connect to how your destiny will work out. Many people have different religions which causes them to all think and look at it differently when it some to death. The main points I am going to focus on are how people's different religion affect their life and death.
I'm first going to start off by discussing religions. Many countries and culture have different religions and beliefs. For example Nachiketa a teenage boy who proved Yama, the the character which was presented as death that we was more of a wise kid which wondering things and wasn't afraid of pushing button you can say and always ended u getting what he wanted. But in this case Nachiketa wasn't going to fool Yama by him begging all he can to hear what he wants to hear. Even those Nachiketa was supported by those he loved by thinking he was the right one to confront Yama.
In this paragraph I’m going to focus on the theme of life. To start off life and religion are the main themes of this story. In the Katha Unpanishad, Nachiketa’s dad doesn’t want to send Nachiketa to Yama because he doesn’t thing he the right fit you can say. But Nachiketa doesn’t take no as an answer especially when the requirement is when the first boy in the family is born he shall go to Yama and will get 3 boons he gets to ask the character,Yama which is presented as death to us the readers. Out of the 3 booms Nachiketa got Yama was only able to grant him 2 because the third boon that Nachiketa asked for was something Yama couldn’t answer, but Nachiketa being the wise teenager he was he insisted on having an answer.
In this final paragraph the topic I’m going to focus on is going to be death. Death can sometimes be scary for some people but not for Nachiketa. Nachiketa was totally the opposite he wanted to see and experience what it’s like on the other side of life which is death. He wants to see what it’s like to be dead. Even tho Nachiketa has the opportunity to get any question answered he kept insisting to get his only question answered which was what would happen after death. In conclusion Nachiketa

My Big Question

Does money really make you happy or do the people around you? I've always wondered if the people who support you emotionally make you happy or do the people how give you power and support you financially make you happy? In my opinion I think the people who support you emotionally are the ones who will be there for you when you need them the most and make you happy. But in other people's opinion they think money is everything they think money will solve your problems with nothing in return. This is  one of my Big Questions that always tend to make me overthink somethimes.

How I Learn

I learn by staying organized and focused. The way I do complete my homework is when i get home around 4 I go to my room turn on some music and do my homework in the order i have my class periods. I normally end up finishing before 7 or a little earlier if I don't have quince practice.

Katha Unpanishad

I didn’t really understand the story at first but then kind of started catching on. From the few things I understood in the passage was that it was based on death which would happen after using all 3 booms that were given to him. I think he kept using using all his booms because he wanted to experience what would happen after he died.

Les Characters

Something that is different is how they act and how they were discribed. The way they described them in the book was completly different to...
