Final Essay: Les Mierables

In Les Miserables there are many different typs of chracters. The two most common are static and dynamic characters. A dynamic character from the book porbably has to be Jean Valjean. Jean Valjean is one of the most important dynamic character because he is always undergoing the most important changes throught the entire story.
One way he changes throughout the bok is when he first started off as a criminal after stealing food for his sister's children. Before he was looked at as a criminal he was like any other man caring for his family etc. He then starts to change once he got arrested, he tried to escape a few times which ended up costing him more time away from his family and also ruined his reputation. Another example.
Another example of when Jean Valjean changes throughout the book is when he is released later from jail after 19 years behind bars. Once he got out he tried to find a place to stay but everyone in the town rejected him even though he is trying to make amends with others. After a while of searching for a place to stay he came upon a lady and asked if she might know a place where he can stay. The lady kindly asked him if he has gone to other places and Jean Valjean answers but saying excuses instead of telling her the truth. She then tells him if he has knocked at the bishop's house, he then answered saying he hasn't and the lady keeps pointing her finger towards the door and she tells him that in that house never denies people no matter their stituations nor past.
Jean Valjean then knocks at the bishop's front door and he then hears the bishop answer, "come in"(pg.72). Once Jean Valjean walked into the housee, the bishop's sister, Madame Magloire had known who he was. Both Madame Magloire and Mademoiselle Baptistine stood there face to face with Jean Valjean. They had heard the bishop coming and still stood there not moving. Once the bishop arrived he also stared at Jean Valjean but then immediately. He then welcomed him in like he would to any other person who waled through the door. He then had Madame Magloire add another set of silver ware and a couple more plates for Jean Valjean to jointhem for dinner.
